10 Months To Go

Wow, this year is flying!  I am so excited for spring~ flowers blooming, sunshiny longer days, warmer temps, and Easter right around the corner.  I am especially excited about Easter weekend this year, and if you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you may already know what I have gotten myself into!  If not, keep reading (and follow/friend me!)
I’m still working on my list of 25 Things Before I Turn 25.  You can see what I scratched off my list last month.  Since then I have also:
2) Read one new book a month.
Well, I slacked off the first two months (unless you count Management textbooks and Good Night Moon) but I finally got some time to read something I wanted to read! I just finished Pioneer Woman’s book Black Heels to Tractor Wheels and it was SO good.  Several parts made me laugh out loud.  It did my heart good to read about such a great love.  Highly recommend.
4) Bake more!
My coworkers would be happy to report that I have been bringing in goodies regularly again.  They especially enjoyed my S’mores Better Pie.

11) Learn to like to cook.
(Make weekly meal plans)
Cooking through the week is not always an option for me with BellaRoo’s kickball & ballet schedule and me working/going to school fulltime but I have found that it is much easier for me to plan meals on the weekend.  See what I made the past two weekends here and here.
14) Eat more fruit.
Work in progress.  I have started buying more fruit though.  BellaRoo’s will eat as many blackberries and blueberries as you will let her have!  We just planted watermelons, hoping that they grow big enough to eat!  I’m working on perfecting a smoothie recipe to try to sneak in more fruits.
16) Declutter!
Another work in progress, but I feel quite accomplished after cleaning out the garage AND my closet.  I got James a workbench for Christmas and our garage has been so jam packed that he didn’t have any room to put it!  He has since assembled it and is enjoying having the space for his tools.  I cleaned out several bags of clothes, shoes, and purses from my closet and am thinking about hosting a ‘Shop and Swap’ party with some friends and then donating the rest to Goodwill.  Anyone done this?
25) Eat the best cupcake I’ve ever had.
Well, I am still on the hunt for the best cupcake ever… but I may not be searching anymore after Easter!  I have signed up for Cupcake Camp Dallas!  I am so excited to be a part of this event.  Local amateur (and pro) bakers are all coming together to donate cupcakes for this non-profit competition.  There will be a donation fee to enter the event, all proceeds will benefit the LEAP Foundation, and once inside you are free to try all the different yummy cupcakes!!
In the days leading up to the event, Cupcake Camp Dallas is having a contest on their Facebook page.  The person with the cupcake that gets the most “Likes” before April 22nd will when an Amazon Kindle.  (James already has plans to steal this from me!)
Please head over to “Like” Cupcake Camp Dallas and also “Like” the picture of my Champagne Cupcake!  Thank you!!
