Friday was my Dad’s birthday… and no one likes doughnuts more than my dad. Although, BellaRoo comes in a close second. So instead of baking my Dad a cake I decided to attempt making homemade doughnuts! I can officially cross number 20 off my list!
The best thing about these doughnuts was that I had all the ingredients on hand! At first they tasted more like fried bread, but after you add the icing it all comes together. I was especially happy with the way the chocolate icing came out.

I found the recipe online… and it called for a strange secret ingredient.
