Gap #ShineOn Event & Pin It Thursday

You might remember a few weeks ago I posted about a fun event GapKids is hosting right now!  This month, select GapKids stores across the country will host Shine On Saturdays events.  Designed by Merrilee Liddiard of Mer Mag, the projects were inspired by the GapKids and babyGap fall collection, including the best new 1969 denim – Jewel Box Skinnies for girls (the new skinny jean updated in bright stretchy denim) and Action Stretch Denim for boys (designed for play all day- it’s denim that’s made to move).  

We went to the event this past weekend and BellaRoo had a blast!  She got to customize her very own journal- which at five years old has recently become a hot commodity.  She is always doodling on my notepads and swiping paper from the printer ha-ha.  Even being tax-free weekend here in Texas, I was pleasantly surprised how organized and put together this event was.  They had a table all setup with supplies- markers, papers, and stickers (of course!).  The employees helping at the event were great– so helpful and really engaged with the kids, which I appreciated.

 Working hard! Once she discovered they had “glitter pens” it was all over.  I think she used every color they had at least once.  She decorated the front (which was actually the back) and then drew a family picture on the back (front).  She cracks me up– she makes sure to include Sophia… as a stick person… in my belly.  It’s so adorable, and hilarious.
