Winter Fashion from Cookie’s Kids

I did a pretty good job on back-to-school shopping last summer.  I shopped a little bit at a time and snagged stuff when it was on sale.  I’ve made an effort to try to keep her “school clothes” separate from her “play clothes” to try to stretch the wear out of them and keep them looking nice!  That has proven more difficult than I thought… especially when my kid comes home from school with chocolate ice cream down her shirt most days of the week.

So when it was time to go back to school after winter break I wanted to “freshen up” her wardrobe.  BellaRoo is at that awkward age gap where she is too old for the “baby” section at the store but too little for the “big girl” section.  She turned six a few weeks ago, but I am just not ready to turn her loose to shirts with Justin Bieber’s face on the front like some I see in her size group.  It doesn’t help me that she is so tall she wears clothes that would fit an 8 year old!

Frustrated with the selection I’ve been seeing in stores, I decided to take my search online.  I immediately loved the feature on Cookieskids.com that allows me to search by size and gender.  So much easier than wading through hangers to try to find the size I need!

From there I can also shop by category, brand, color, or price.  I knew I wanted to get her some jeans, one because it’s been so cold here lately, and two because they tend to last longer!  I found these super cute Almost Famous jeans with pink stitching, so I decided to look for a pink shirt to match.  I decided this would be a perfect outfit to wear on her birthday as well!

I got such a steal on Isabella’s outfit that I decided to check out the selection for Sophia as well.  For her I wanted something warm and soft.  I love Carter’s stuff for her, and I love that Cookie’s Kids also gives me the option to sort by brand.  Through brand name searching I was able to find a cute Northface Backpack and some Baby Phat Clothing.  I actually picked out a super cute Carter’s set, but after placing my order I was informed they no longer had her size.  Cookie’s Kids customer service were extremely prompt in notifying me, and credited my account back the same day.  With most companies it takes forever to get the money back, but they were great!  I decided to order a replacement outfit, and they got it shipped out to me in no time.

I was even able to get a smile out of my tiniest model.

I’m glad I was able to find something “age appropriate” that still fit!  She looked super cute on her birthday and she loved her new outfit.
