My Weekend in Salt Lake City at the BYB13 Conference

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I traveled from Texas to Salt Lake City, Utah this weekend to attend the Build Your Blog Conference put on by Six Sisters’ Stuff.  It was a whirlwind weekend, full of fun and new info!

I got into SLC around lunchtime on Friday and was picked up by Ashton, Jocelyn, and Liz- my roomies for the weekend.  These girls are SO sweet and I am beyond excited that I finally got to meet Ashton.

We were all starving, so we decided to hit up an exotic, local Utah eatery… Chick~Fil~A… haha!  We also made a trip to Target later that night; my husband has been teasing me that I flew 800mi to go eat & shop at places 10 minutes from our house.  We made up for it the next night by eating at Cafe Rio.  Oh man am I wishing we had one in Texas now!  When I walked in I was expecting something like a Chipotle or Fuzzy’s Tacos… but Cafe Rio was better.

The conference was great.  I learned tricks on how to maximize Pinterest, tips for indoor photography, and a lot of other useful info.  The best part was definitely the networking and getting to meet other bloggers.  (Although the late night soak in the hot tub wasn’t bad either!)  The keynote speaker- Brooke Walker from Studio 5- was awesome.

Actually I take that back… the best part was getting to meet Maria and Amanda.  Kevin & Amanda was one of the very first blogs I started following, so I was thrilled to get to meet her and listen to her share on the food panel session.

Check back tomorrow as I share some of what I learned, as well as what I plan to do differently to prepare for my next conference!

Oh… and I might have a giveaway for you! :)

  1. I have heard several bloggers who attended this conference make mention of eating at Cafe Rio for the first time! I am from the Utah/Idaho area so I have loved Cafe Rio for several years, but my husband refuses to eat it. We don’t have alot of them here in Arizona, so I always want to stop there when we get back in town, but he won’t have it:)! So I always have to take my mom with me!:) It looks like you had fun! I wish I could have gone!

Too funny Heather! Where are you in AZ? My grandmother used to live in Tucson, and we would visit just about every year. I love it out there!! We always make sure to eat at Macayos!

  2. So glad to have met you this weekend and that you enjoyed my city. Also, so glad you got to experience the amazing Cafe Rio. It’s a reason to come back!!
